Mike Crokers painting landscape in oils
We enjoyed a Master Class from Anthony Mackay. He talked about how he found inspiration for his paintings, using his own sketches and watercolours to record the world around him, and then how he would move into the studio where he would develop these ideas to create his abstracted landscapes. He shared with us images of his sketches and notebooks and full sized canvases. Then in the last half hour he created a painting right in front of our eyes, working from one of a series of paintings he had made of the river from the Butterfly Bridge. 2024
