Spring Exhibition 2025
As you are aware we recently held a very successful Spring Exhibition 8th - 14th April 2025.
Thanks to the committee, artists and members who gave up their valuable time in planning , setting up and running the exhibition. Also many thanks to all those who played their part in advertising the exhibition and helping to make it a success. It really is appreciated! The exhibitions take a lot of organising and without willing volunteers it would not be possible to put on these events.
A few of the headline numbers for the 5 days were :
Total sales were £786 (Prev exhibition £523)
We sold 25 pieces of art by 14 artists.
Attendees were 177 ( previous exhibition 167)
Just for fun and as is the custom, during the week, the public voted for their favourite picture / artist etc.
There were an astonishing 120 voting forms in the box. Every single artist had at least one vote! There were also votes for an exciting array of non-exhibitors putting examples of their work on the club tables: The Fountains Court painting, Tania's pen and watercolour architectural pictures and Herbert, the portrait paintings and folios and a sketchbook.
Favourite pieces from the exhibition were: jointly, Chrissie Fitch's Hellebores, Sally Creveul's Morning Light and Nigel Allsopp's Sunset over Clapham. Artists gaining the most votes overall were: Chrissie Fitch and Colin Kitchin in first place, with Nigel Allsopp, Sandra Mc Dougall and Toots Bland in joint second and Sally Creveul and Chris Walsh in joint third.
